The Game Isn’t Over / Sahar Asrazad’s Review of “A Bigger Game”

The Game Isn’t Over / Sahar Asrazad’s Review of “A Bigger Game”

“Werewolves” is the first feature film of Abbas Nazaroddin based on a joint script from him and Majid Islami. Fascinating and innovative film with interesting story brings special challenges for the filmmaker in his first experience. The film is a story of a group game run to be accepted for investor to participation. But this is not the end of the story, because the “Werewolves” is supposed to turn into the game of death and life of this group and some kind of place for dissection of the secrets and lies of each of them. In fact, the film begins with the description of complicated game and at the same time introduces the multiple characters in a concise way. But gradually the suspension in the stages of the game and revealing the secrets are shown and when it seems that the game is over, the main game begins by entering to surreal atmosphere.  This is where the logic of the real world and even the current rules in the game do not help to solve the puzzle and the characters are in the deadlock of this suspended labyrinth.
