See 120 Years of Iranian Cinema Through 120 Photos in FIFF Exhibit

A photography exhibition is underway at Charsou Cineplex to mark the 120th year of cinema in Iran.

Manager of Special Events Program Seifollah Samadian says the new exhibition series demonstrates Iranian cinema’s historical trajectory with photographs taken form 120 films. He says if successful, the series’ pictures will go to the National Archives of Iranian Cinema.

According to Samadian, two visual art exhibits will also be held on the sidelines of the main event in the coming days. Three festival posters from previous editions are also on display right now. The posters were deigned in collaboration with Iraj Taghipour, Hamidreza Bidaghi, and Ali Khorshidpour

Each April, the Fajr International Film Festival attracts the most innovative storytellers and adventurous audiences to the nine-day celebration of the best independent Iranian and foreign films, Talent Campus workshops, Film Market, and events.

Presided over by writer-director Reza Mirkarimi, the 36th edition of Fajr International Film Festival is underway in Tehran until April 27. The organizers are receiving over 300 special guests, ranging from filmmakers to screenwriters, actors to activists. A host of A-listers are also attending now, including legendary Italian actor Franco Nero and influential American film director Oliver Stone.
