“The West Sky” Cast at 42nd FIFF

The first press conference of the 7th day of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) was held for “The West Sky” with the participation of the cast and crew of the movie on Wednesday.

The cinematic work recounts the early wartime bravery of Martyr Ali Akbar Shiroudi, said Mohammad Asgari, the director of the movie.

Nearly 70% of the flick is based on facts related to the Iran-Iraq war, he added.

To create the film, the interviews written already on the Martyr were used, he stated.

“We narrated the real incidents through a story and via cinematic angle,” he pointed out.

Milad Keymaram, an actor who played the role of the Martyr, said “I acted a role that I hadn’t experienced,” he said.

“The son of the Martyr told me that the role I played resembles his father,” the artist said, terming that remark as invaluable.

Habibollah Valinezhad, the producer of “The West Sky”, said “We tried to produce an artwork for the sake of the martyrs.”

The 42nd FIFF kicked off in Tehran on February 1. The great cultural event will end on February 11.
