Exploring Fajr International Film Festival’s Key Competitions

The International Competition and Eastern Vista sections of the Fajr International Film Festival showcase a diverse selection of films. This year, the 43rd edition features 16 films in the International Competition and 12 films in the Eastern Vista section.

The International Competition presenting audiences with historical, social, and character-driven works, reflecting a wide range of narratives and cinematic styles. The lineup includes:

  7. “Catane” (Ioana Mischie, Romania/Italy)
  8. “Pyre” (Vinod Kapri, India)
  9. “My Father’s Scent” (Mohamed Siam, Egypt/Norway/Sweden/Saudi Arabia/Qatar/France)
  10. “Look at Me” (Vladimir Grammatikov, Russia)
  11. “March to May” (Martin Pavol Repka, Czech Republic)
  12. “The Agronomist” (Martín Turnes, Argentina)
  13. “Deal at the Border” (Dastan Zhapar Ryskeldi, Kyrgyzstan)
  14. “Made In EU” (Stephan Komandarev, Bulgaria/Germany/Czech Republic)
  15. “A Time in Eternity” (Mehdi Norowzian, Iran)
  16. “The Bridge” (Mohammad Asgari, Iran)

The Eastern Vista section features 12 films, offering audiences a rich perspective on contemporary Asian cinema:

The 43rd Fajr International Film Festival, with Rouhollah Hosseini serving as Festival Director, will continue until 3 December.
