The official poster series for the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival was unveiled on Saturday, November 15, at the Mausoleum of Saadi in Shiraz. The posters were designed by Mehdi Davaei, with the main festival poster inspired by a photograph by Jassem Ghazbanpour. Additional posters draw on imagery from Abbas Kiarostami’s acclaimed 1994 film “Through the Olive Trees”, honoring the late Iranian master filmmaker.
During the ceremony, Raed Faridzadeh, Head of Iran’s Cinema Organization, said, “Cinema creates a space for reflection and storytelling. This year’s festival poster honors the late Abbas Kiarostami, one of the greatest filmmakers of the world, whose work embodies a part of our collective identity and is deeply rooted in Iranian culture, thought, and language.”
The 43rd edition of the festival, running from November 26 to December 3 in Shiraz, aims to strengthen the longstanding bond between poetry and poetic cinema, one of the hallmarks of Iranian film. The festival will be directed by Rouhollah Hosseini.
