Iraj Tahmasb Appointed Director of FIFF Talent Campus

Iranian director, presenter, and screenwriter Iraj Tahmasb has been appointed to lead the Talent Campus section of the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival.

During the six-day program — also known as Darolfonoun, the festival’s educational arm — participants will not only attend lessons but also embark on a collective creative journey in which the cinema screen becomes a blank canvas and the filmmaker’s camera paints poetry.

According to the festival’s news desk, the Talent Campus serves as a platform for discovering and nurturing emerging filmmakers. In line with the festival’s central theme, this year’s edition places special emphasis on poetic cinema — cinema built upon dreams, silence, music, metaphor, illusion, and emotion. The program is also a celebration of poetry and cinematic poets.

The Talent Campus encourages film students from Iran and around the world to take part in an intensive series of workshops and masterclasses focused on the relationship between poetry and cinema. It also promotes education and cross-cultural dialogue among young filmmakers from different countries.

The workshops, conducted by filmmakers, authors, and industry professionals, will help participants develop their artistic sensibilities and creative vision while inspiring them to tell stories that express the passion of life, the depth of human connection, and the shared aspirations of the global community.

Iraj Tahmasb, born in 1959 in Tehran, is a theater graduate of the University of Tehran’s Faculty of Fine Arts. Over the past four decades, he has worked as a presenter, writer, director, playwright, actor, and puppeteer. His most notable works include “Asemoun and Rismoun”, “Alang and Dolang”, “Kolah Ghermezi and Pesar Khaleh”, “Kolah Ghermezi and Sarvenaz”, “Kolah Ghermezi and Bache Naneh”, and “Party”.

Tahmasb will oversee the Talent Campus workshops, scheduled for November 27–December 2, 2025. The registration and submission deadline is October 27.

The 43rd Fajr International Film Festival will take place November 26–December 3, 2025, under the direction of Rouhollah Hosseini.
