Minister says Iran films address promoting justice, countering oppression

Iranian Minister of Culture and the Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili said in Tehran on February 9, 2024, that the Iranian-made movies always address promoting justice, and countering oppression.
Esmaeili made the remarks in a meeting with foreign invitees in the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) and a number of ambassadors in the Iranian capital.
Despite other revolutions in the world, the 1979 Islamic Revolution features a cultural aspect, he added.
“That’s why Iranian prestigious events in some spheres such as film, theater, and music are convened in the ten-day Fajr days.”
The language of art needs no translation, he said, terming art as a professional tool for conveying the intended messages .
He expressed hope that the FIFF could prepare the ground for cooperation in line with producing joint projects in the arena of cinema.
Presided by Mojtaba Amini, the 42nd edition of Iran’s largest annual film festival is held from February 1 to 11, 2024, in Tehran.
