Pakistan’s Culture Minister Attends Fajr International Film Festival

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for National Heritage & Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, arrived in Shiraz on Sunday evening, 30 November, where he was welcomed by Raed Faridzadeh, Head of Iran’s Cinema Organization, along with several senior officials.

He was accompanied by Raisa Adil, Chair of the Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC); Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, President of the Urdu Language Authority; and Zulnoorain Khan, the minister’s chief of staff and senior adviser.

The first day of the international meetings on film cooperation at the Fajr International Film Festival was held with the participation of Mohammad Tayyeb, Director General for International Affairs and Festivals at Iran’s Cinema Organization; Alexander Gastev, deputy director of the National Film Studio “Belarusfilm”; Argen Adil Uulu, president of the Kyrgyz Cinema House and director of the Bishkek International Film Festival; and Nurgul Moldoshova, director of international affairs at the Kyrgyz Cinema Organization.

The discussions focused on the global standing of Iranian cinema, prospects for co-productions, and the organization of national film weeks. Participants exchanged views on expanding bilateral cultural and cinematic cooperation.

The international meetings on film cooperation – with cultural delegates from 23 countries, including ministers, deputy ministers, and national cinema executives – officially began on Sunday, 30 November, alongside the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival, which continues through 3 December.
