Filmmakers from 10 countries have voiced readiness to produce the cinematic work with Iran, Mohammad Khazaee, the head of the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs, has said.
He made the remarks at the Press Conference on the Regional Cinematic Authorities on the 10th day of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) in Tehran.
Filmmakers from Russia, Lebanon, China, Uzbekistan, India, Greece, Pakistan, Armenia, South Korea, and Turkey have requested to cooperate with Iran in the field of joint production.
So far, 23 movies have been jointly made with the collaboration of Iran and various countries over the past years, he added.
Ghazali Cinema Town, Noor Cinema Town, and Holy Defense Cinema Town are professional cinematic facilities that could be used as locations to produce various flicks, he underlined.
Khazaee expressed hope that the recently-signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the FIFF would be executed in the near future.
During the conference, Kemal Usal from Turkey suggested that Iran and Turkey screen the flicks in both countries.
He added that the international agreements prepare the ground to produce the works with a great budget.
Mohammad Said Shohiyon from Tajikistan, another participant in the press conference, said that Iranian movies are full of hope and present a positive outlook on the future.
Akzhol Bekbolotov from Kyrgyzstan said that both countries are working together to ink a document on cooperation in the coming months.
As per the agreement, the two countries will be able to screen the movies in their respective countries, he further noted.
Also, representatives from Turkey, Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan were present at the press conference.
