Holding FIFF after Norouz Can Keep the Cinematic Vibes Alive

Dr. Hojatollah Ayoubi, Head of Iran Cinematic Organization, visited the Festival Palace at Charsou Cineplex on Thursday, March 31st.

As reported by the public relations office of the 34th FIFF, in this friendly meeting, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance visited the Festival Palace and was informed on the proceedings by the director of the festival, Reza Mirkarimi.

At the end of this 3-hour meeting, Ayoubi congratulated the New Year, also expressed his gratitude on the proceedings, and said, “A considerable number of cineastes and journalists do not believe that we are capable of holding a festival. By the end of the festival last year, there were a lot of criticisms about our lack of potential and the unsuccessful experience that we had gone through.”

The Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance added, “Mr. Mirkarimi is an innovative filmmaker who never runs out of brilliant ideas. His presence has led to the formation of a spectacular team. The veteran cineastes, present in this edition of FIFF, are so motivated to hold a deserving festival for Iranian Cinema.”

Head of Iran Cinematic Organization also stated, “The separation of the international section of the festival from the national section was a right, and reasonable move. I have a lot of plans and ambitions for Iranian Cinema. One of my ambitions was the independence of the international section of the festival, which I really look forward to it, being held appropriately. The Darolfonoun Section was one of my other ambitions. It’s absolutely delightful that this section is functioning seriously and has had good outcomes so far.”

He also pointed out to Mr. Reza Kianian’s presence as one of the directors of the 34th FIFF and said, “I’m so pleased that Mr. Kianian has agreed to be in the directorial board of the festival. His presence as the Manager of the Festival Palace is a privilege for this edition of the festival.”

Dr. Ayoubi added, “In the last few weeks, the number of filmgoers has increased and the new films have managed to gross a noticeable amount of money; therefore, I believe holding the international section of the festival right after Norouz can keep the cinematic vibe alive. My colleagues at Iran Cinematic Organization and I are supporting the festival. I hope this edition of the festival will be held in the most efficient and most respectable way possible.”

At the beginning of this meeting, Reza Mirkarimi, went through the proceedings thoroughly, and talked about the selected films, inviting the guests, welcoming the guests, accommodating the guests, the workshops, etc. Consequently, the directors of the different sections of the festival presented the Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance with a report on their work domain.
